The Nelson & Wanaka Tiny House Factories have been building stunningly beautiful and highly functional transportable homes since 2020. They are suited to South Island wind, snow and sea spray conditions. The custom design process is thorough and engaging for you. Our in-house architect takes your ideas and applies them to one of our 7 standard models, or to your very own design. You get a fixed price contract before we start your house. We offer:
40-60 m2, one- to three-bedroom small transportable homes that suit the proposed law changes to allow “Granny Flats” without building or resource consent. They can however be fully consented where required. They can have wheels to move around on the property but are mostly placed on foundations.
15 – 28 m2 Tiny Homes on (or off) Wheels: back to the roots of the Tiny House Movement, our homes are truly mobile, tested on long road trips all along the South Island. They are road legal caravans but feel like a house inside. They pack a punch with clever and beautiful storage, bathroom, living and sleeping ideas – sleeping up to 8 in our largest towable Mintaro design.
We have a range of homes specially designed for use in caravan parks, as workers accommodation, airbnb or for other commercial applications.
We are Licensed Building Practitioners and build to or above the NZ Building Code. We build with steel, timber, or SIPs frames, we can advise you about healthy building products, Passiv House design, just to name a few. We can obtain building consent for you if needed.
We’re local, never more than a few hours’ drive away from anywhere in Te Waipounamou. We use local trades and suppliers. Our locations are in two of the best holiday spots.
