Hickey Contractors was established in 1975 when with just a tractor and mower, Stan Hickey started this contracting business that went on to become a thriving household name in the wider Bay of Plenty & South Waikato regions.

Since then, Hickey Contractors has contributed immensely to the development of Rotorua’s infrastructure especially, including surrounding Reporoa, Taupo, Tokoroa, Mamaku, and Western Bay areas.

Hickey Contractors is owned by Mark and Yorana Long, a moderately sized family owned earthworks civil & drainage business. The business has successfully delivered thousands of civil infrastructure projects since the early days in the 70’s, and the old philosophy of “doing an honest days work” still remains the same today.
