MI-POD Outdoors designs and builds premium truck campers, roof tents and outdoor equipment for overland adventurers. Based in Richmond, Nelson, New Zealand, the company is built around a simple philosophy: precision engineering with a minimal footprint — capability without bulk.
The range centres on four product lines. Mi-Pod Roof Tents are semi-automatic, hydraulic pop-up hardshell tents that deploy in under 60 seconds for elevated, off-ground sleeping. Mi-Pod Cabins are insulated, self-contained modular cabins designed for longer off-grid stays, with kitchen, bathroom and sleeping zones and rapid on-site assembly. The flagship Mi-Pod Ute Campers turn a standard ute tray into a full mobile basecamp, with a seamless welded-aluminium body, a pop-up roof sleeping 2–3, an integrated kitchen and water system, and 12V power with solar input. Rounding out the range, Awnings & Accessories — including 270° wraparound awnings and modular roof-rack platforms — add shade, power and mounting options that integrate directly with the rest of the system.
Every product is built to the same standard: aerospace-grade, seamlessly welded aluminium construction that won’t rot or rust, engineered specifically for New Zealand conditions from coast to alpine, sealed road to back-country. The pitch is straightforward — arrive, deploy, sleep, with no assembly required — aimed at adventurers who want serious, durable equipment without unnecessary complexity.
